Who can enroll in Hermiston ONLINE!?
For the 2015-16 school year, only resident students of the Hermiston School District or regional students who have been released by their resident district are eligible to attend Hermiston ONLINE! Learn more about how to enroll your child in Hermiston ONLINE!.

I would like to enroll my child in Hermiston ONLINE! and another public school. Is this possible?
Hermiston ONLINE! provides a full-time, comprehensive academic program. Dual attendance is possible where a student in Hermiston ONLINE! may choose to participate in an elective or supplementary course offered at another Hermiston School District school. However, Hermiston ONLINE! students will not be permitted to dual enroll in another public school district concurrently.

Does Hermiston ONLINE! accept students who have been expelled from another Oregon public school?
Pursuant to statute, Hermiston School District may not have to accept resident students who have been expelled from another school district depending on the nature of their expulsion. Students who have been expelled from an Oregon public school and submit an enrollment application to Hermiston ONLINE! will be considered on an individual basis. Parents are responsible for informing the Hermiston ONLINE! Coordinator if their students have been expelled from school upon initial submission of the enrollment application.

What does it cost to attend Hermiston ONLINE!?
Because Hermiston ONLINE! is a public school program, there is no tuition. Hermiston ONLINE! provides an Oregon-licensed teacher and all instructional materials for the program. Students and families will be responsible for providing internet access, computer*, and nominal consumable materials (such as printer ink and paper).

*A loaner computer may be available depending on financial status and need

Are there any attendance requirements?
Yes. According to state law, Hermiston ONLINE! is required to offer the same days of instruction in their online program as they do the general education program. Students are expected to access their coursework and studies on a daily basis, just as they would in a regular school setting.

Can I take a vacation during the school year?
The school calendar includes school “holidays” or vacation time. Whenever possible, family vacations should align with school vacation days. If a student skips a day during the week, he or she will be marked absent. Vacation is not an approved reason for absence in the state of Oregon. Families must notify their teachers of any absences.

What about four-year-old kindergarten?
Hermiston ONLINE! doesn’t offer a four-year-old kindergarten program. Children must be age five on or before September 1 in order to participate.
